In terms of music, create playlists that include both timeless classics, like Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas,” and contemporary hits to gets guests mingling on the dance floor. Don’t forget to add song requests as the night goes on! Hearing Uncle Leo belting Mariah Carey or cousins giggling over “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer” creates memories just as lasting as the perfect party décor.

And speaking of delightful scents, spice up your simmer pots with orange, clove and cinnamon. Fresh balsam wreaths or pine garlands add an extra infusion of holiday essence.
